Saint to reward Rs. 1 crore to chop off the tongue of Toilet Ek Prem Kathas director

23 Nov 2016

Ever since Toilet Ek Prem Katha has gone on floor in Mathura, the film has constantly been in news. But this time around, it seems to have evoked a minor controversy of sorts since people in Mathura assume that the film is about Lord Krishna and Radha. From what we hear, a certain Phooldol Behari Das has approached the mahapanchayat where he claimed that Toilet Ek Prem Katha insults the marriage tradition of the villages and has vowed to reward the one who chops off the tongue of the director of the film with Rs. 1 crore. Apparently, he addressed the issue amidst Hindu saints at Barsana village where apparently the marriages between the men and women of Nandgaon and Barsana isnt allowed. Some locals believe this no-marriage rule is a consequence of Lord Krishnas village being Nandgaon and Radhas village being Barsana. On the other hand, the makers continue to maintain that the film has no such religious reference. We had earlier heard that the film is a satire that brings forth the issue of sanitation and hygiene and is loosely based on Prime Minister Narendra Modis Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles and is directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
