Bejoy shoots David in three colour pallets

10 Oct 2012

Experimentation in Bollywood films has come to the forefront in the recent past, with directors opting to try their hand at varied shooting and editing techniques. Going with this trend, Bejoy Nambiar who is currently busy with his film David , will be shooting the film in three different colour pallets. Reasoning why he chose to shoot the film in such a manner, Bejoy says, "Yes, we are shooting certain segments of David in black and white and it will feature Neil, but I cannot say much more about that segment. In fact David is basically three stories across three different time zones, hence we chose to show the three stories in different colour pallets. Apart from that, we are shooting with three different DoP's for the same reason as well." When quizzed whether the segment that depicts Neil in black and white is based on the gangster films of the 40s and 50s, Bejoy says, "This is a first time that I am doing a gangster story so I thought what better way to show this than to shoot it in black and white, in a sense you can say that it's a tribute to the gangster films of the 40s and 50s." David , directed by Bejoy Nambiar stars, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Chiyaan Vikram, Vinay Virmani and Lara Dutta.
