On Friday last week, the much coveted National Awards were announced. While most were elated at the news, there were a few who took objection to the names being awarded. One among the awards that came under question was the award for Best actor which went to Akshay Kumar. In fact social networking sites were filled with trolls claiming that the National Awards Chairman Priyadarshan had been biased and granted the award to Akshay since the actor had signed him on to direct a couple of films under his banner. Finally clarifying on the same, Priyadarshan who has a close proximity to Akshay Kumar, laughed off the rumours stating that he isnt doing any film with Akshay Kumar. Further talking about his future projects, the filmmaker added that as of now he has just two ventures on his plate, one with Abhishek Bachchan that is tentatively titled Bachchan Singh , a commercial entertainer that is written by Rumi Jaffrey and the other with Ajay Devgn which will be a Hindi remake of Oppam.Later questioning the reasoning behind the rumours of him being biased and awarding Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan flatly stated that he doesnt understand how people feel that he solely influenced a jury of 12 to take such an important call.
