Just yesterday, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma held a preview screening of his soon to release film Sarkar 3 for a select few. While the film itself is just days away from release, we hear that RGV seems to have hit a setback. In fact the Bombay High Court has directed the filmmaker to give scriptwriter Nilesh Girkar due credit for Sarkar 3 apart from settling the outstanding amount of Rs. 6.20 lakhs. This High Court ruling comes after Girkar had filed a copyright infringement case against the filmmaker on January 30, claiming that he had been denied credit for the films script. Besides this Girjar had also alleged non-payment of the full amount Rs 8 lakhs, as promised by the filmmaker. Following the filing of this petition, the High Court had directed Ram Gopal Varma to deposit the balance payment of Rs 6.20 lakhs with the court as settlement and to also hold a private screening of Sarkar 3 for Girkar to determine whether his script has indeed been put to use. Commenting on the same Girkars lawyer Rahul Ajatshatru stated that post the screening a comparison chart was developed and filed in court as directed. Following the filing the other party was given five weeks to submit their arguments against Girkars claims, however, since they failed to give any response the opening credits of Sarkar 3 will mention, Based on a story written by Nilesh Girkar. As for the film, Sarkar 3 that features Amitabh Bachchan returning as Subhash Nagre is slated to hit screens on May 12.
