Priyanka Chopra confirmed for YRF's Gunday

Life can't get better for Priyanka Chopra. 2012 has indeed been a year that she will remember forever. While on one hand, her film Barfi! has not just proved to be a smash hit and won her critical acclaim for her performance, but also has become India's official entry to the Oscars, on the other, she has released her first international single ' In My City '. Well, if that wasn't enough, she has now been signed up for YRF's Gunday , that's being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and stars Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. With her signing the dotted line, the strong rumors that Katrina was being considered 'strongly' for the role can now be put to rest! While the official spokesperson of YRF confirmed that Priyanka would play the lead role in the film, director Ali Abbas Zafar also tweeted, "So finally we have leading lady for GUNDAY...Priyanka Chopra will star opposite Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor" and I am very happy with my cast Ranveer, Arjun & Priyanka. I have never worked with them before." Talking about the film, Ali said that the film will be completely shot in Kolkata and that it's a period film set in 1971 to 1988. He also added that the lead actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will be seen as Bengalis in this 'not a love triangle' film. The film will go on floors in December.
