Dhawans are not making film for Varun

30 Oct 2012

Last week there was news making rounds that for his next outing after hugely successful Student Of The Year , Varun Dhawan had decided to go ahead and feature in a film with his family where David Dhawan would be stepping in as a producer and brother Rohit Dhawan would be directing again after Desi Boyz . That had come as a surprise for all involved since Karan Johar and other bigwigs in the industry had some other massive plans lined up for the youngster. As has turned out, the one who is most surprised with the developments is none other than Varun himself. "Varun is surprised that such insinuations are being made when there is absolutely nothing being planned on these lines. Of course he belongs go the family of filmmakers but if the endeavour was to work with them soon, he could have debuted much earlier. He is thankful to Karan for giving him such launch pad; he isn't going to let the goodwill get diluted by plunging on his own film so soon. All of that can wait", says a close family friend of Dhawans. Apparently, even though Varun has a non-exclusive three films contract with Dharma Productions, Karan is taking keen interest in ensuring that his discovery makes some good choices. "This means not really getting into the comfort zone of a home production either", the friend continues, "Why to make it all so easy and obvious? There is time for everything. Let Varun explore the outside world; comfort zone of a home production can wait." Meanwhile Varun, who is new to the world of rising speculations and flying rumours is preferring to lie low on such news making rounds. All he says is, "Dad is also sure that I have to do two-three films with outside filmmakers before I come back home. There is no film planned with him and Rohit. My loyalties stay with Dharma." That should set the records straight.
