Bhansali's Ram Leela in title row

28 Jan 2013

Just as one thought that the controversies surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali's (SLB) upcoming film Ram Leela have died down, here comes yet another one. This time round, it's a battle for the title.

Filmmaker Mukul Abhyankar has now claimed that the title belongs to him. News is that he has sent a legal notice to SLB since his innumerable reminders fell on deaf ears. News reports have it that when he informed SLB regarding the title, Bhansali 'assured' him it was only a working title. Not just that, buzz is that SLB's office even offered him financial recompense for the title, but Abhyankar said that he has declined the same.

Abhyankar claimed that while he was making the film with UTV and had even signed actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Dharmendra and others, it did not go on floors for certain reasons and that they parted ways in 2010. He added that now he is making the same film with some other producers and that the title is registered with him and no one can claim it. He also added that he has all the documents and that his film is in progress.
