31 Jan 2013

Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Special 26 has been making news ever since the first few teaser campaigns featuring fake CBI official raids were launched. Then we hear that Akshay's costar Manoj Bajpayee was approaching some of his bureaucratic friends to get into the role of a CBI official. The latest update on the film is that the CBI has now officially approached the makers of the film requesting a disclaimer on all publicity material to help spot fake officials.

Special 26 which is based on real incident where a group of people posed as fake CBI officials and raid across politicians and rich businessman. And since none of these guys wanted to file an official complain, the fake CBI officers never got caught. Since all promos and theatrical trailer show the conflict between fake v/s real CBI officers, the premium investigation agency has requested to add a disclaimer on all publicity material and posters.

Taking this new proposal in their stride, the producers have added a line on request of CBI officials that reads, 'BEWARE OF FAKE CBI OFFICERS - Please verify from CBI, Anti-Corruption, Tanna House, Colaba Mumbai 8108224455, 22882794'.

Special 26 directed by Neeraj Pandey is slated for release on Feb 8.
