Anees Bazmee to direct Aankhen sequel

Two decades back, Govinda and Chunkey Pandey were seen together in the comedy film Aankhen. Produced by Pahlaj Nihalani and directed by David Dhawan, the film was a laugh riot when it released. Now years later, producer Nihalani has decided that the film which met with success in '93 deserves a sequel. This time however, the film will be directed by Anees Bazmee.

Apparently, Nihalani has been toying with the idea of making a sequel to his blockbuster Aankhen for quite a while, and it's only now that he has signed Anees, who was the writer of the original film to direct it. The sequel will be called Aankhen Char and is said to go on the floors in August this year. The film will be a comedy of errors.

Though the film may be quite similar to the original, the script will be tweaked featuring both the heroes in double roles. However, the cast of the film is yet to be finalized.
