Firoz Nadiawala's anticipatory bail plea opposed

22 Aug 2013

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi has now signed an affidavit to oppose Firoz Nadiadwala's anticipatory bail plea. This comes after the two were caught in the web of legal controversies when Santoshi recently filed an FIR against producer Nadiadwala accusing him of trespassing on his property and criminal intimidation that is threatening to kill him, on July 26. The two had parted ways in 2012, after Nadiadwala's three film deal with Santoshi which included a film titled Power with A-list actors failed to take off.

Later, Nadiadwala applied for a pre-arrest plea claiming that these accusations were a false misrepresentation of his actions. His version of story was that he entered Santoshi's house for claiming the money he owed since 2012 and he had to take this action as Rajkumar refused to answer his calls. Also, Nadiadwala agreed to the fact that he lost his cool and claimed that it was only because he wanted his money back.

However, Santoshi denied owing any money to producer and has currently opposed the pre-arrest bail plea of Nadiadwala claiming it to be an attempt to cause grievous hurt to the filmmaker. Director Santoshi also claimed that Nadiadwala was threatening him constantly, even in front of his cook and watchman and therefore he had to resort to legal action.

The court has scheduled the hearing of the bail plea on August 24.
