Rumi Jaffrey walks out of Shaukeen remake

12 Nov 2013

Even before the remake of Basu Chatterjee's 1982 film Shaukeen could go on floor, the film seems to have hit rock bottom. Rumi Jaffrey, who was supposed to direct the film, has opted out of it.

Apparently, the reason for the sudden exit is said to be date clashes. Rumi, who was pretty kicked about the project revealed that the film got delayed to January instead of October and that, he had other commitments to fulfill. The writer-director also expressed his unhappiness over his exit from the remake and hopes that despite his absence, the film proves successful.

While the original starred Mithun Chakraborty and Rati Agnihotri, this one will have Akshay Kumar and Nargis Fakri reprising their roles.
