Gulzar bestowed with Dada Saheb Phalke award

News is that ace lyricist Gulzar will be conferred with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award.The Dada Saheb Phalke Award is the highest honour in the filmmaking industry given to an actor for his/ her contribution to the Indian Cinema.

Gulzar who has been in the industry for over 50 yearsand has over the years been credited as a lyricist, dialogue writer, screenplay writer as well as a director. Apart from this award,Gulzar had earlier received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2002 and the Padma Bhushan in 2004, and a number of National Film Awards.
