Apoorva Lakhia's Haseena project to roll sooner than scheduled

28 Jul 2014

The sudden demise of Haseena Parker, sister of Dawood Ibrahim, has put an extra pressure on filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia to start his project.

Lakhia had been in "serious and final stages of negotiation" with Ms Parkar for the rights to film her life-story. Now with her sudden death, Lakhia is being persuaded by the deceased lady's family to start the project sooner rather than later.

Says a source close to the project, "There some major legal and creative issues to be solved. But the lady's family was always very keen that Lakhia make the film. They see her as some kind of female hero." Apparently, the project which was supposed to take off in 2015 would now go on the floors by the end of this year.

When contacted Apoorva Lakhia said, "The lady recently passed away. It's too early to talk about the film."
