Varun Dhawan's punch injures Vinay Pathak on Badlapur set

Shifting away from his chocolate boy image, Varun Dhawan will be attempting something new with Sriram Raghavan's dark film Badlapur. Varun, who will be sporting many looks in the film, will also have a few fight sequences.

Varun Dhawan was recently shooting for the last schedule of the film and the actor during one of the action scenes left his co-star Vinay Pathak injured. As Varun tried to hit him with a power packed punch, Vinay got his shoulder fractured. In fact, we hear that the actor collapsed on the floor after the scene and hence was rushed to the nearby medical facility for help. Since Vinay could not get back to his feet, the cast and crew on the sets panicked. Later, he was detected with hairline fracture and asked to rest.

Recollecting the incident, Varun Dhawan mentioned that it was a difficult scene and he also clarified that he didn't mean to hurt his co-star Vinay. He also further added that this is not the first time someone has been injured on the sets. Previously, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Varun himself have been a victim of such mishaps.

In Badlapur , Varun Dhawan will play the role of Raghu who has shades of grey and Yami Gautam will be seen playing his wife. It also stars Huma Qureshi who will be reprising the character of a prostitute. Produced by Illuminati Films, the shoot of Badlapur was completed on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day.
