Homi Adajania's next with Saif Ali Khan shelved

1 Sep 2014

Homi Adajania was looking forward to work with his Cocktail star Saif Ali Khan once he wrapped up the promotions of his upcoming film Finding Fanny. However, now it seems that their film is caught up in a fix. Apparently, Saif and Homi were looking buying the rights of an international film and the deal did not get through. Now it seems that they have planned to shelve the film.

The film in question was said to be a romantic comedy and Homi Adajania along with Saif Ali Khan were in search of a leading lady for the same. It was to go on floors in Australia in November once Saif wraps up his other commitments. However, when the two approached the makers of the international film to buy the rights, they faced a few legal issues because of which they had to drop the idea. Saif recently revealed that the film is off for now since they couldn't get hold of the rights of the film.

In the past few months this is the third film of Saif Ali Khan that has been shelved. Prior to this, his film with Abbas-Mustan too was shelved. The film in question was supposedly inspired from the French novel 'The Count of Monte Cristo' but Saif decided to make an exit citing date issues. After that, Dinesh Vijan's directorial debut too was pushed to the backburner. In fact, Dinesh's film was said to bring together Saif Ali Khan and his fan and admirer Parineeti Chopra for the first time on screen but Saif had claimed that the script of the film required changes since it had a striking similarity with Arif Ali's Lekar Hum Deewana Dil which was produced by Dinesh and Saif under the banner Illuminati Films.

Saif Ali Khan is currently wrapping up two films, one is the Ileana D'Cruz and Kalki Koechlin starrer Happy Ending and the other is Kabir Khan's Phantom alongside Katrina Kaif.
