4 Dec 2014

While he is still working on the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Paani , Shekhar Kapur has also decided to revive the cult horror film The Omen. Though not a film, we hear that the renowned international filmmaker will direct a TV series titled 'Damein', a continuation of the film, which will be produced by Fox TV Studios.

Readers may be aware that the name 'Damein' was the character played by Harvey Spencer Stephens when he was just six years old, the antagonist, antichrist child in the film The Omen . The series in question will be only of six episodes and will portray the adult life of the Damein Thorn, along with retaining the spooky elements of the first installment. The role of this adult 'Damein' will be played by Bradley James of BBC TV series 'Merlin' fame. The filmmaker announced it on Twitter saying, "Remember the classic film 'Omen'? We're doing the sequel 'Damien'. Very very exciting script." 'Damein' is written and executive produced by Glen Mazzara through his 44 Strong Productions. Also Ross Fineman will executive produce it along with Mazzara. On the other hand, Shekhar Kapur too will executive produce the first episode.
