The Charles Dickens classic 'Great Expectations' has many characters and they play a vital role in taking the story forward. In case of the Bollywood adaptation of the novel, Fitoor, the film is currently in the initial stages of the shoot and with the progress of the same, we get a glimpse of the casting that is slowly unfolding.

Earlier, names of Aditi Rao Hydari and Akshay Oberoi got added in the cast and now its renowned Ghazal singer Talat Aziz. He will not only be making his Bollywood debut with the film but will also play the role of Rekha's love interest in the film. Talat Aziz will be seen as a Pakistani diplomat trying to woo the eccentric Begum. The Begum's role is ideally inspired by the character known as Miss Havisham in the novel, who turns to be a complete man-hater, after she is ditched by fiance Compeyson at the altar, who runs away with her money. She plays an integral role in bringing together the lead pair of the novel, Estella and Pip. On the other hand, details of Talat Aziz's character is being kept under wraps, and it is being said that he will be doing a role that is not just a cameo. Moreover, we hear that he got the role since his chemistry with Rekha was appealing and hence the makers decided to rope him in for the character.

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by UTV, Fitoor has Aditya Roy Kapur playing Noor, an artist and Katrina Kaif in the role of Firdaus, as his muse. The film is currently being shot in Kashmir and it is slated to release next year.
