Shandaar shoot stopped over non-payments to workers

10 Dec 2014

The shooting of the Alia Bhatt- Shahid Kapoor film Shandaar hit a roadblock when Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union stalled its shoot yesterday at the Essel Studios, because of the non-payment of dues of the workers.

Speaking about this, Gangeshwar Srivastav (General Secretary- Allied Mazdoor Union) had stated that the producers of Shandaar are supposed to clear their dues amounting to around Rs. 7 lakhs. Earlier while it was mentioned that the workers refused to co-operate since the makers were only ready to pay Rs. 4 lakhs, now, we hear that the entire payment has been released and the film is back on track.

Srivastav maintained that the workers have resumed shooting, further adding that they are very happy to co-operate and will soon shift to the next shooting schedule for the film. Though he expressed his concern over the delay in payments, he also claimed that if the workers are given their due, they would be more than happy to continue with their work.

Besides Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Shandaar also stars Pankaj Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor. The film will also mark the debut of Shahid's sister Sanah in Bollywood.
