PK now made tax-free in Bihar

Ever since the time the cinegoers got a 'first glimpse' of Aamir Khan's PK, the film has been making headlines for many a wrong reasons. The current status is that, despite all its controversies, the film continues to make money at the box-office. The latest update in the same is that the film has now been made tax-free in Bihar.

Reasoning the decision, he said that their leader Nitish Kumar had advised them to exempt PK from tax. He added that they decided to make it tax free so as to ensure that the poor people can watch the film that exposed the superstition and fraud taking place in the name of religion. He also termed PK as a 'must watch film'. Readers may note that, Nitish Kumar even said that the film was entertaining and also created awareness.

Besides Bihar, PK has been made tax free in Uttar Pradesh as well. However, where on one hand, the film is receiving privileges from the Government, on the other hand, it is also facing protests from many Hindu organizations. In fact, the outburst has turned violent in certain cities in India, where protesters are burning the posters of the film and threatening theatre owners to take down the film.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, PK stars Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Saurabh Shukla and Sushant Singh Rajput. The film has marked its presence in the 200 crore club and has surpassed other releases of 2014 in the box office collections, marching its way to the 300 crore club.
