Akshara Haasan to play Sridevi's daughter; Ad-man Ravi Udyawar to direct

15 Jan 2015

After investing his entire energy and resources to producing Tevar for his son Arjun, producer Boney Kapoor is all set to produce a film for his stunning wife Sridevi.

The film has just got itself a director. He is none other than ad filmmaker Ravi Udyawar. Significantly Boney Kapoor had introduced another ad filmmaker Amit Sharma as a feature-film director in Tevar . The ambitious Sridevi project is a dramatic and emotional story of a stepmother and her stepdaughter. While the stepmom's role would be played by Sridevi, the daughter, one now hears will be played by Kamal Haasan and Sarika's younger daughter Akshara Haasan.

Akshara who is all set to make her Bollywood debut in R Balki's Shamitabh is already being singled out as one of the most promising newcomers of the year. Apparently, it was Balki, who produced Sridevi's comeback film English Vinglish, who recommended Akshara.

Says a source, "Boney saw some portions of Shamitabh and was convinced that this newcomer would be able to share screen space with the redoubtable Sridevi." Interestingly, Sridevi and Akshara's father the legendary Kamal Haasan have done 21 films in Tamil and of course the classic Sadma in Hindi together. With Akshara getting into the picture, Sridevi's post-comeback film after English Vinglish just seems so much more exciting.
