20 Feb 2015

While he is often being associated with creativity and dark films, Anurag Kashyap slowly yet steadily has carved a space in commercial cinema too. With his magnum opus Bombay Velvet now entering the final stage, the director decided to take a breather and shift his attention towards short films. It is not new for the filmmaker to venture into this familiar zone but this time around, he has found a space to feature his film on an international platform.

MTV International has approached Anurag Kashyap for an anthology based on theme of extra marital relationships. Anurag who has given his thumbs up for it, stated that it is a rare chance where he can explore creativity devoid of commercial pressures. He also further added that the film will star his favourite Radhika Apte and Satyadeep Mishra of No One Killed Jessica fame and he has already started shooting for it.

Being an anthology, the film has works of international directors coming from Japan, Chile, Australia and Mexico. Eric Mahoney, one of the producers from MTV International stated that the makers were really impressed with Anurag Kashyap's work in Gangs of Wasseypur and 'Murabba', the story which was a part of Bombay Talkies. Mentioning that the film is an attempt to deal with a topic which can be related worldwide, Eric refused to divulge any more details on the film including the name of the foreign directors who will be a part of it.

The said anthology might feature in festivals this year itself.
