Shriya Saran to play Ajay Devgn's wife in Drishyam remake

Considering that Ajay Devgn has pushed Shivaay to the backburner for now, his next film, a remake of the popular Malayalam film Drishyam, is in the casting stage. Apart from Ajay Devgn playing the role of Mohanlal in the film, we now hear that Shriya Saran will be seen as Ajay's wife in this thriller drama.

In the Malayalam version, the role of Shriya was portrayed by popular South actress Meena. Shriya and Ajay will play parents to a teenage daughter, but the details of the actress playing the role of their daughter is yet to be finalized. The film revolves around a man who devises a wise plan in order to protect his wife and children from a crime that they commit in self-defense.

The remake of Drishyam also stars Tabu who plays the role of a cop along with the critically acclaimed actor Rajat Kapoor who plays the role of her husband. The film will be extensively shot in different locations within India; starting from a schedule in Goa it will move further down towards the south to Hyderabad and Kerala. Directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Abhishek Pathak in association with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the film is slated to release in October 2015.
