IMA to serve legal notice to makers of Gabbar is Back

12 May 2015

It's been weeks now that the Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back hit screens, while on one hand the film has been doing brisk business at the box office, on the other, we hear that the makers of the film might just run into troubled waters. In fact we hear that the IMA (Indian Medical Association) has decided to serve a legal notice to Gabbar is Back actor Akshay Kumar and producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali for portraying the medical profession in poor light.

Talking about the reason behind sending the notice, Dr K K Aggarwal, IMA's honorary secretary general, pointed out that the film shows the medical profession is a wrong way, due to which people may lose faith in this noble profession.

If that wasn't enough, more than 2.5 lakh member strong IMA even sent a letter to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley complaining that the recently released film projected the medical profession in a bad light. In its letter, the IMA demanded that the objectionable scenes be immediately removed from the film and that the film's screening be suspended till those scenes are not removed.
