Ram Gopal Varma slams Bombay Velvet

16 May 2015

Things have never been hunky-dory between Anurag Kashyap and his one-time mentor Ram Gopal Varma.

Soon after Kashyap co-wrote Satya for RGV, the two fell out and bickered bitterly over Ram Gopal Varma's much-condemned Sholay remake Aag . At that time Kashyap had commented, "Ramuji has lost it all in Aag . I can't see the Ramuji I used to know, at all now. I have stopped watching his films completely." It seems it's now time for Ramu to get even with Kashyap.

Soon after Kashyap's new ambitious film Bombay Velvet opened to dismaying reviews and collections, Ramu tweeted, "Because I am 1st maker of AAG I think I have experience and right to lay them on a velvety cushion and console the future AAGIANS....My velvety tears for the maker of a disaster like AAG are for the tragedy, that by being the butt of it, he himself doesn't get to fuck it...The bottom line is everyone makes an AAG and till he makes his own AAG he will bitch about others AAGS until he too burns in his own AAG." Not endig at that, Ram Gopal Varma further tweeted, "There's a very thin line between confidence and arrogance and only Velvets and AAGS can show the difference. A Slumdog making a film with millions of dollars will not necessarily make a Slumdog Millionaire. Karan Johar is the only Velvet and the rest is coarse." Commented a friend of Kashyap, "To give Ramu a chance to ridicule a film by Anurag Kashyap... looks like Kashyap's bure din aa gaye ."
