Shekhar Ravjiani to make acting debut in Neerja

While many actors are getting into the music zone, here is one musician who is all set to turn an actor. Shekhar Ravjiani, who is known for his music that he often composes with Vishal Dadlani, will soon be making his acting debut opposite fashionista Sonam Kapoor in Neerja . Atul Kasbekar's Bling Unplugged and Fox Star Studios have come together to revive the story of the PanAm flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who is the youngest recipient of the Ashok Chakra award. Playing the lover of Neerja aka Sonam Kapoor will be Shekhar Ravjiani. Confirming the story, the spokesperson of Fox Star Studios also added that though it won't be a lengthy role, it will be a pivotal one for the film. Apparently, Neerja while working for PanAm was in love with a man in his late twenties and Shekhar will be seen in the role.

For the ones who aren't aware, Neerja Bhanot died in 1986 while saying the lives of children who were the passengers of her flight during a hijack. Also, the airhostess had a turbulent life considering her arranged marriage had gone sour and she had shifted base to Mumbai to start her life afresh. Sonam Kapoor, who is playing the protagonist in Neerja , prepared for the role by not just talking to Neerja's family and also learnt the mannerisms of the airhostess. Directed by Ram Madhvani, the film went on floors in Mumbai where a set of Boeing 747 has been recreated.
