Welcome Back's co-producer Furqan Khan threatens to stall the film's release

While Firoz Nadiadwala's film Welcome made news for all the right reasons after its box office success, its sequel Welcome Back has been making news for the not-so-right reasons.

Furqan Khan, who happens to be Welcome Back's co-producer, has now issued a public notice against Firoz Nadiadwala for allegedly failing to reimburse the film's production budget of around a whopping Rs. 48 crores. Speaking on this issue, Furqan Khan said that he had not taken any legal action (so far) because of his rapport with the film's director Anees Bazmee. He added that, because of the fact that Firoz Nadiadwala's company BIG (Base Industries Group) had repeatedly faltered on their payment dues, Welcome Back cannot be released on any platform, including theatrical ones. He also added that the cheques issued by Firoz Nadiadwala (of Rs. 15.80 crores and Rs. 32 crores) had also bounced.

Anees Bazmee, on the other hand, said that he, on the behalf of Firoz Nadiadwala, ensured that the pending payments will be cleared in the coming week.
