Hero confirmed for September 11, KKHH 3 and PKP 2 move ahead, no clash with Welcome Back

This was pretty much touted to be a first ever clash of the sequels. However, it isn't happening any more.

Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, which were aiming to come together on September 11, are now eyeing a different release date.

As a result, the weekend is free now, hence setting the stage for Nikhil Advani directed Hero which can now well avoid clash with Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back on September 4. "It was many months ago when both Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 were eyeing the same release date. It would have been an interesting clash since both films are sequels to successful comic affairs. Both installments of Kya Kool... franchise have been hits so far. On the other hand Pyaar Ka Punchnama was an average runner in theaters but has managed a semi-cult status amongst youth over the years. Their coming together would have been quite exciting," says a trade insider.

However, this won't be the case anymore as the shooting of Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 is still on. "Yes, we are in fact leaving for Krabi to shoot one song for the film," confirms Abhishek Pathak, producer of the film, "We are coming in September but it won't be on 18th." This practically leaves the film with an option of only one more Friday, i.e. 25th.

As for the Tusshar Kapoor-Aftab Shivdasani starrer Kya Kool Hain Hum, there is no news yet around its arrival. Even though less than two months remain for 11th September, there is no teaser unveiled either, hence making it further improbable for the film to make it on this day. Sources inform that the film could be pushed to a later date.

"All of this sets the stage for Hero to make merry," our source adds, "All this while there were talks of a clash between Welcome Back (another sequel) and Hero (a remake) on September 4. Both have Eros as the producers. Now that Eros has already announced the arrival of Anil Kapoor, John Abraham and Nana Patekar starrer, Hero could well benefit from arriving on the weekend ahead, considering it has been made free due with Kya Kool... and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 opting out. Why to get into a clash when you can have a week entirely for yourself?" We tried contacting Eros for their confirmation on the release plans. However, the spokesperson was unavailable for comment. Our sources insist though that the Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty film has caught fancy of the vacant slot available and the D-date for the duo is indeed September 11.
