Shruti Haasan opts out of Milan Luthria's Baadshaho

10 Sep 2015

Shruti Haasan has been having a great run with her films this year across Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. With her recent release Welcome Back hitting its mark at the box office, Shruti is definitely on a success high. However, we now hear that the actress, who was in talks with director Milan Luthria to feature in his next titled Baadshaho opposite Ajay Devgn, has opted out of the project.

Commenting on Shruti opting out of the film, an industry insider says, "Shruti and Milan had quite a few meetings and conversations. Shruti seemed happy about the film's story and how her role was described in those meetings. Hence she agreed verbally but also requested to see a final script before signing the dotted line, as is standard norm today. After working with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, working with Ajay Devgn, a respected senior actor, was also something that made her look at the film more strongly. However, once the latest narration of the revised script draft was shared with her, her character didn't seem like how it was narrated to her initially as it didn't quite add as much to the story anymore. After working with directors like Tigmanshu Dhulia and Nishikant Kamat who created such amazing characters for Shruti and gave it such a beautiful personification and place in the story, she didn't feel like this character cut it for her even though she was really looking forward to working with Milan Luthria." Further adding about Shruti's shoot schedules clashing the source adds, "In addition, the schedule of the film's shoot has also now been pushed forward by a few months which coincides with the shoot of her two south projects. Hence bearing all these factors in mind, she's had to politely decline being part of Baadshaho with the hope that she gets another opportunity to work with Milan and Ajay."
