Actor-producer Sanjay Kapoor will be seen playing a pivotal role in Vikas Bahl's rom-com Shaandaar releasing soon. To be specific, the actor, for the first time plays the role of a Sindhi don named Harry Fundwani in this upcoming film about destination wedding.

Considering that Sanjay is a Punjabi, obviously he required someone to train him with the nuances of the character, especially the language and filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani came to his rescue. Tarun helped Sanjay pull off his loveable and funny character of a Sindhi don wherein he helped him to get the right Sindhi dialect for his character.

A source says, "Vikas Bahl had approached Tarun asking him if he could help Sanjay for his role of a Sindhi don. Vikas briefed the filmmaker about Sanjay's character and he was very excited to help Sanjay. The three sat for a couple of days and Tarun helped Sanjay learn more about Sindhi language, dialect and diction for his role. In fact, Sanjay had even read a lot to prepare for his role." Sanjay informs, "I've never played such a humorous and interesting character in my career. Tarun has been a great help. Also, I've been brought up in Chembur (Mumbai) known for Sindhi communities and most of my friends are Sindhis, so that experience has also helped me. Besides that I read some facts about Sindhi language and the way Sindhis pronounce certain dialogues. It was fun shooting for Shaandaar ." Produced by Phantom and Dharma Productions, Shaandaar stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt in lead roles along with Pankaj Kapur, Sanah Kapoor, Sushma Seth amongst others and is slated to release on October 22.
