Salman Khan's dad suggests cuts for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

22 Oct 2015

It isn't only Salman Khan who thinks Sooraj Barjatya needs to economize on his playing-time in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP).Salman's father, the renowned writer Salim Khan saw PRDP last week. He was of the same opinion.

Prune the peccadilloes of the prasanna parivar . Says a source in know, "Salim Saab is always consulted by all of Salman's directors for his opinion after the film is completed. Sooraj Barjatya is no exception. He showed the film to Salim Saab, who loved the film. But he suggested that the running time of nearly 3 hours was too much for today's audience." Clearly there is a problem with the length of the new Salman release. In fact Salman has requested Soorajto cut down on the songs. Now with Salman's dad joining in with his son, Sooraj may not have much of a choice but to do some editing to bring down the film's running time." Inordinate length has always been a perennial problem with Sooraj's films. His directorial debut Maine Pyar Kiya was 3 hours 15 minutes long.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun was 3 hours 26 minutes in length and Hum Saath Saath Hain was nearly 4 hours long.
