Pooja Batra raises around $35,000 in a charity gala at Houston

After becoming an overnight sensation with her debut film Viraasat , the gorgeous Pooja Batra went onto do films which were best forgotten at the box-office and then she did the vanishing act from Bollywood. She recently resurfaced (in a cameo) with the dance flick ABCD 2 .Now the lady with the electrifying smile is back again in the news. She recently attended a charity gala hosted by CRY (Child Relief and You) that was held in Houston, USA. As per the reports, she auctioned eight items, which included an electric guitar that had been autographed by Sir paul McCartney. In all, they raised around $35,000 (around Rs. 23 lakhs).

Speaking about the event, Pooja said that she (in the event) spoke about the opportunities that Indians get in terms of schooling, education, healthcare and other aspects and that this was the first time wherein she had done an auction.
