Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to star in Ajay Devgn's Baadshaho?

14 Apr 2016

By now we all know that Milan Luthria's next Baadshaho will feature Ajay Devgn and Vidyut Jamwal, however since the film's announcement there have been multiple reports of A-list actress names being thrown around. Now we hear that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to star in Baadshaho portraying the role of Gayatri Devi.

Apparently, Baadshaho that is set during the Emergency 1975-77 will feature Aishwarya playing a character loosely inspired by the late Maharani Gayatri Devi who had defeated the Congress Party's candidate thrice and objected to the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi. Though an official confirmation is unavailable, we hear that the actress has already done one narration session with the makers of the film for the said part.

As for the film, Baadshaho that is being produced by Bhushan Kumar is supposed to be inspired by a true incident involving a raid on a Royal family of Rajasthan, which had an enmity with the political leadership during the Emergency of 1975. Slated to release on Republic Day January 26, 2017, the film is expected to go on floors mid-2016.
