Amidst several actors who have previously extended their support towards the development of girl child and women empowerment, yet another actress who has joined the league is Richa Chadda. The actress, who plays the role of Sukhpreet, wife of Sarabjit Singh in the biopic Sarbjit has decided to do her bit for women empowerment.

Richa Chadda has extended her support to a NGO called Purnata . They rehabilitate innocent girls from human trafficking and provide them with livelihood through technical training in centres across Mumbai. Richa will be raising money for them with the help of her network and also wishes to spread more awareness about the issue. A source says, "When she met the girls over there for the first time she got inspired by them, with their will power and desire to reach a certain position in life. Richa will be spending her time extensively to work closely with the women from these NGOs who have braved difficult situations and are trying to give life a new lease." Confirming the same Richa added, "I think a time comes in every actor's life when they want to use their influence in the best possible way to contribute positively. I am glad I got a chance to help in this case. Human trafficking is a massive problem internationally, but every small step counts."
