Salman Khan's upcoming film Tubelight based on Sino-Indian war

Earlier we had reported that Kabir Khan and Salman Khan are coming together to tell yet another touching tale. And now we hear that this film, unlike Bajrangi Bhaijaan, will be a period drama.

Set in the 60s, the film is said to be based on Sino-Indian war which was over the dispute on Himalayan borders. The filmmaker had previously maintained that this film though has a political backdrop; it was will have be a human drama. Sohail Khan also plays a prominent role in the film and it was being said that he would be playing a mute guy. However, now it has been learnt that there is no truth to the same and that Sohail will play Salman Khan's brother on screen too. Names of several actresses are being tossed around for the film. Last we hear that Kabir Khan had narrowed it down to Katrina Kaif. We further hear that the film doesn't a meaty role for an actress but the role of a leading lady will be small yet impactful. It is also being said that the leading actress will only be required for the second half in the film.

Shot extensively in Mumbai and Ladakh, Tubelight is slated to go on floor in July.
