Salim Khan clears the air on why he apologized for Salman Khan

4 Jul 2016

A couple of days back Salman Khan was making headlines again, this time for an ill-timed statement made while promoting his soon to release film Sultan . While Salman's comment stated that he felt like a raped woman after shooting for Sultan, it certainly didn't sit well with the powers that be. In fact the National Commission for Women demanded a public apology from the actor for this quote.

While Salman took his time in replying to the letter sent by the NCW, the actor's father Salim Khan had taken to twitter apologizing for the actor. However, the veteran scriptwriter's apology seems to have fallen on deaf ears and instead has raked up further more issues. Responding and clearing the air on why he apologized on behalf of Salman, Salim Khan took to twitter again saying, "Normally people apologise to get rid of the problem but, I meant it hoping that the problem would be over. But the commercial compulsion of the media wanted to carry it to the saturation point. I regret not knowing this." Further talking about the futility of an apology received under duress Salim Khan added, "What is the meaning of getting an apology from a person under the guillotine, who knows rightly or wrongly that he has not committed a crime."
