Ashutosh Gowariker's wife Sunita becomes victim of cybercrime, loses over Rs. 1 lakh

Wife of popular filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and producer, Sunita registered a complaint at Khar police station after she realized that over Rs. 1 lakh has been misspent from her account. She lodged a report at the Khar police station for online fraud and the matter is currently under investigation.

It so happened that Sunita received a message on August 5 about an expenditure of Rs. 1,34,333.08 which was unaccounted for. When she questioned the manager of her production house Vishwanath Nayar, he did not have any details on the same. Post the incident, she immediately decided to report the same to the police authorities. Officials claim that a complaint has been registered under sections 420 of the IPC [Cheating] and 66 (c) (d) of the IT Act [Phishing]. Police suspects that this could be the work of a hacker or someone who is aware of Sunita's PayTM details. Her spokesperson too agrees to the news and has maintained that she had indeed lost her credit card but has now received a new one. Ashutosh Gowariker is currently gearing up for one of the major releases of the year and the filmmaker's magnum opus Mohenjo Daro starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde which releases this week.
