Road crossing named after (late) Aadesh Shrivastava in Mumbai

Readers may know that the (late) music composer Aadesh Shrivastava passed away last year after battling cancer. In the honor of the composer, a crossing has been named after him in Mumbai. The inauguration ceremony of the road crossing took place in the presence of his widow Vijayta Pandit and other celebrities like Jackie Shroff, J.P Dutta and Poonam Dhillon on Sunday.

At the ceremony, Jackie Shroff attended the event wearing a jacket which was gifted by (late) Aadesh Shrivastava and talked about the first time they had met. He said that he had met the (late) music composer when he had gone to listen the music of his film Hero . He added that Aadesh Shrivastava was one of the percussionists and soon, they became friends. He said that Aadesh Shrivastava had worked in Angaaray and got his first big break with the film Kanyadaan. They both had started their career at the same time.

Poonam Dhillon said that it was really sad that he left them so early. He was very close to them and was a cheerful person. He was a talented and God-fearing person. She said that they all miss him very much.

Filmmaker J.P. Dutta was also one of the attendees and reminisced about the time when Aadesh Shrivastava worked as an assistant for Laxmikant-Pyarelal. They were friends and he composed music for J.P.Dutta's first film Ghulami. He said that he always knew his requirements and said that he was born talented.

The late Aadesh Shrivastava sang a number of hit songs such as ' Sona sona ', ' Shava Shava', 'Gustakhiyaan ' and ' Gur Nalon Ishq Mitha '. He had won accolades for his work in Kunwara, Tarkieb and Shikari .
