Actor Ajay Devgn was featured in the Hindi version of Drishyam (2015), a remake of the Malayalam-language original, followed by a sequel last year, both blockbusters.Panorama Studios produced the Hindi versions and has a third instalment in the franchise lined up to hit theatres next year, as per a report by Deadline.Film producer Kumar Mangat Pathak described his further plans for the franchise, he said, "We're now planning further remakes in other languages, including Japan and an English-language version, which is in an advanced stage of discussions in the US."Earlier China Film Group produced a Chinese version of the primary instalment of the Malayalam-language franchise billed as 'Sheep Without A Shepherd', which was a massive hit in China in 2019.

Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak on Tuesday announced the sequel to his 2018 film Raid titled Raid 2. The filmmaker has confirmed that the sequel of the film will be based on the real-life story of perfume merchant Piyush Jain. The film will showcase the visuals of multiple raids that took place at the houses and factories of Piyush Jain in Kanpur and Kannauj.Pathak made the announcement during a panel discussion at the first edition of the three-day Kashi Film Festival in Varanasi. Pathak, known for backing films like Drishyam and Khuda Haafiz, said he had made up his mind to make Raid-2 which will also show money coming out of the walls as it happened at Jain's house.Apart from that, Pathak also spoke to a tabloid and said that the script is almost prepared. The script is about an arrogant politician who gets his due, and his subsequent fall from grace. The story will follow up his journey of being a common man who rises to power to become one of the wealthiest politicians of India to the raids at his properties. The sequel will also take the viewers to the adventures of senior income tax officer Amay Patnaik [played by Ajay Devgn]. In the film, Ajay will be seen reducing the politician to the stature of the common man.
Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has officially confirmed the sequel to his 2018 film Raid starring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz. He has revealed that the follow-up will be based on the real-life story of multiple raids at the houses and factory of perfume trader Piyush Jain in Kanpur and Kannauj.Speaking at a panel discussion of the first edition of the Kashi Film Festival in Varanasi, the producer said that he will be making Raid 2. The film will be replicating the raids at Jain's house and factory. The raids at his house and factory by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) led to the recovery of about Rs. 257 crore in cash, 25 kg of gold, and 250 kg of silver. Jain was arrested after the raid and the Finance Ministry has also termed it as the biggest ever seizure of cash by an enforcement agency.Meanwhile, Raid which was released in 2018 starred Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla, and Ileana D'Cruz in the lead. The film was based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s. The 2018 film was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta.
