She put this text on a video in which she is seen flashing her million-dollar smile as she enjoyed a scenic view from a balcony.Helmed by Abbas Tyrewala, 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' aptly portrayed millennials and their relationships- from siblings' bond to an oddball but relatable college gang. It was made under Aamir Khan Productions.Marking the 15th anniversary of the film, Aamir Khan Productions dropped a video featuring memorable scenes and songs from the blockbuster."Unforgettable moments, laughter and tears! Celebrating 15 years of a film that was, and will always remain special. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na," a post read on Instagram account of Aamir Khan Productions. The film also starred Ayaz Khan. He essayed the role of Genelia's fiance in the film. His character garnered a lot of hate as he slapped Genelia's character Aditi in the film.Quipping about the scene, Ayaz took to Instagram and wrote, "ADITI KO KYU MAARA ?? This question has been driving me crazy since then Can't believe it's been 15 years already. Thank you everyone for all the Hate #JTYJN #15yearsofjanetuyajanena."Jaane Tu Ya Jaane's music acted as a breath of fresh air. Be it 'Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi' or 'Pappu Can't Dance' or 'Kahin To Hogi Woh', each track of the film is still remembered by people.
Back in 2013, dialogue writer Abbas Tyrewala had registered a case against Preity Zinta after a cheque given by her had been dishonoured. However now we hear that on Monday a local court has acquitted Zinta in the case.
As for the case that was filed in 2013, Tyrewala had been approached by Zinta to write eight lines of voiceover for the film Ishq In Paris that was being produced under the latter's banner PZ Media LLP. Since Tyrewala was to deliver the lines on an urgent basis, Zinta had apparently presented him with a cheque as remuneration to the tune of Rs. 21 lakhs, which could be encashed on completion of work. However, in his suite Tyrewala claimed that when he tried to encash it in November, the cheque which was given to him in September 2012, bounced, since the bank had been instructed to stop payment. Since it was dishonoured, Tyrewalla served a notice on PZ Media through its partner Preity Zinta, who had signed the cheque.
In its ruling the Andheri magistrate said the complaint failed to make out any case against the firm and discharged it but issued notice to Zinta. Simultaneously Zinta's defence lawyers S K Jain and Hitesh Jain said that Tyrewala was not enitled to the money since he had not delivered the work as stipulated under the contract and hence was not supposed to encash the amount.
Issuing the acquittal the court has also sought Zinta's presence on April 4 to execute a bail bond, a legal requirement in case of an appeal being filed against the verdict.
The legal crisis faced by director Amit Khanna's naughty rom-com Badmashiyaan has finally been resolved. The beleaguered film which was due for release on February 27, would now be released on March 6.
For those who came in late, the film found itself in a bit of a fix when the makers of another forthcoming Hindi film Mango directed by Abbas Tyrewala claimed that Badmashiyaan seemed similar to a Korean film titled Couples for which the makers of Mango had acquired the official remake rights.
On the basis of the complaint made by the makers of Mango (MSM Motion Pictures) the honourable Delhi High Court had restrained the release of Badmashiyaan .
But this week in an out-of-court settlement the producers of Badmashiyaan were able to secure the release of their film.
Says the film's co-producer Anurag Shrivastav, "The situation has been mutually settled. And now we are releasing our film on March 6. As our title suggests the fun never ends. We had taken a call against allowing the matter to drag on in the honourable courts. We mutually settled with Sony and the honourable court has passed an order allowing us to proceed without marketing and release the film provided we fulfill the settlement conditions."
It seems that writer Abbas Tyrewala has decided to take on an opponent who won't take allegations lying down.
Preity Zinta who has been accused of non-payment of dues by Tyrewala for his writing work in her ill-fated production Ishkq In Paris not only denies owing any money to Tyrewala, she also accuses him of non-delivery of required work.
Shooting in Udaipur with Sunny Deol for Bhaiyyaji Superhit, Preity, known to be absolutely above-board in her professional dealings, reacted saying, "He (Abbas Tyrewala) has lied. He has deposited a cheque that was supposed to be used only if and when he did the work required for our film. This, he did not do. So we don't owe him any money at all."
Preity further states that Tyrewala didn't possess any written document regarding his agreement with Preity's production house. "He signed no papers, did no work for us and yet took a cheque from us that was not meant to be taken. If he has any proof or any paperwork proving he has done any work for us, he is most welcome to take a payment."
Preity claims she stopped Tyrewala's payment because he did not deliver the work for which he was hired. "Yes, we stopped his payment because we didn't owe him anything. Now he claims a cheque for work that he did not do has bounced."
On making inquiries I discovered that EVERY single person who worked on and in Ishkq in Paris has been paid.
Says Preity, "Yes, we've paid everyone. If we owed this guy (Tyrewala) we would have paid him too. I cannot and will not pay someone for work he has not done. He abused my trust and goodwill and took a cheque from me which was meant to be used only if he worked for us."
Preity says Tyrewala is guilty of breach of trust. "I did not register a case of a stolen cheque as I didn't want to embarrass him. But now the matter is in court and it's all on record. I won't be blackmailed just because I am a known face and name."
Preity has proof of Tyrewala's allegedly fraudulent monetary claims. "We have submitted our proof to the court. We will take appropriate action against him now that he has taken the matter to court and involved the media for publicity. I am not stupid to put myself at risk with a bounced cheque for a relatively meager sum of money."
Preity Zinta whose last film Ishkq In Paris sunk without a trace at the box office now finds herself in trouble of a different kind. Apparently, a non bailable warrant has been issued against the actress. This comes in connection with a bounced cheque case, for which a complaint had been filed by scriptwriter Abbas Tyrewala.
In the complaint filed, Tyrewala has accused Zinta for issuing a cheque for Rs. 18 lakhs which bounced. Following this a Mumbai court had summoned the actress in the past. However due to her inability to appear before the court four consecutive times the court on Thursday, issued the non-bailable warrant.
Abbas Tyrewala is all set to direct his next film titled Mango . The film will star Rannvijay, Harman, Monali Thakur, Chandan Roy Sanyal, and Swara Bhaskar. Set in the heart of Goa, Mango is all set to recreate the same magic that Abbas created in his directorial debut movie, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na .
Based in the calm atmosphere of modern Goa in the monsoons, this frenzied film traces one night in the life of 5 manic individuals, whose stories intertwine in a completely unlikely manner. It's a story of love, life, friendship, relationships and betrayal. Primary, secondary and even incidental romances share the spotlight here with the main characters where while some chase love, the others chase money.
Says Abbas Tyrewala, "I've never had more fun making a movie.
Mango, with its engaging storyline portrays lives of five youngsters in the city of Goa. But, soon things are about to change in their lives."
