Like every year, the Lav Kush Ramlila committee will be hosting hundreds and thousands of people during the exuberant festivities of Dussehra in Delhi. Many Bollywood celebrities like Deblina Chatterjee (Sita), Raghav Tiwari (Ram), Akhilendra Mishra (Ravan), Arun Mandola (Lakshman), Nirbhay Wadhwa (Hanuman), Narad (Asrani), Kewat (Manoj Tiwari), Mandodari (Amita Nangia), Manish Chaturvedi (Shiva) Mohit Tyagi (Vibhishana) among others on Sunday, entertained the media and special guests with their full dress rehearsals at the Red Fort.Arjun Kumar, President of Lav Kush Ramlila committee said that this year, under the supervision of famous Bollywood action director Manoj, they have prepared amazing and miraculous scenes and some power-packed and horrifying action sequences for the audience. More than 27 Bollywood celebs arrived in Delhi to perform at the Lav Kush Ramlila after practising their characters for over a month. This year, 'Lagaan' actor Akhilendra Mishra will be seen portraying the role of Ravan at the Lav Kush Ramlila.Talking about the festival calendar this year, the 10-day-long Dussehra festivities will begin on September 26 and will culminate on October 5.Every year, Dussehra is celebrated to commemorate the triumph of good over evil as Lord Ram killed Ravana on this day.In some regions, the celebration--also known as Vijayadashami--celebrates Goddess Durga's triumph over the buffalo demon Mahishasura.Dussehra is observed on the day Dashami Tithi (tenth date) of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of the Ashwin month falls during the Aparahan Kaal.
In the clip, Aamir, director Ashutosh Gowariker, actors Yashpal Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra, Rajendranath Zutshi and others are seen interacting with each other.Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan and Aakash Chopra were also a part of the celebrations."#21YearsOfLagaan," Aamir Khan's production team captioned the post.Shankar Pandey, Raja Awasthi, Suhasini Mulay, Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat, and Amin Gazi also marked their presence at the personal gathering.Helmed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, 'Lagaan' was nominated in the Best Foreign Language category at the 74th Academy Awards and received widespread critical and commercial acclaim. It was the third film from the country to be nominated in the category after Mother India (1957) and Salaam Bombay! (1988).'Lagaan' follows the story of Bhuvan (Aamir), a villager from Champaner, Gujarat, who is challenged by an arrogant British officer, played by Paul Blackthorne, to a game of cricket, as a wager to avoid paying the taxes (lagaan) they owe.
