Ali Abbas Zafar and his wife Alicia have become parents for the first time, as the couple is blessed with a baby girl on Saturday.On Sunday, the 'Tiger Zinda Hai' director took to his Instagram handle and shared this 'happy' piece of information with his fans, family and friends on social media.To announce the good news, Ali posted a photo of his wife leaning against a wall while holding her growing baby bulge. He wrote a 'sweet' message for his wife in the caption, also revealing the name of their daughter. He wrote, "Alicia and I began our journey with love, love which is beyond borders - colour and race, we are very fortunate that we found each other and got married, Now after almost after 2 years we are thankful to Almighty Allah for blessing us with most beautiful gift of our life."He further added, "She came in our life on 24th September at midnight 12.25. Please welcome our bundle of Joy - Alija Zehra Zafar." Ali also made a pun about his, Alicia, and Alija's names at the end of his message. The film starred Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan, and Ali Zafar. After that, he wrote and directed films like Gunday, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat. He turned producer with Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starrer Khaali Peeli and now he has officially launched his production house.Zafar also made his digital debut as he wrote and directed the series Tandav starring Saif Ali Khan. The series was released in 2020 and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.Currently, Zafar is directing a film featuring, Shahid Kapoor. The Amazon Prime Video web series Tandav directed by Ali Abbas Zafar landed in legal trouble ever since it was released on January 15 on the streaming platform. Now, after the BJP seeking action against the makers, Maharashtra Government has said on Wednesday that it will take action as per the law."We have received a complaint regarding the web series Tandav. Action will be taken as per law. The Maharashtra government supports censorship of OTT platforms. This keeps happening time and again. So the Centre needs to come up with a law, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh told reporters.On Monday, the team of Tandav had issued an unconditional apology for unintentionally hurting the sentiments of the people. They had also assured that they will be implementing changes to the series after a discussion with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. Soon after, the scenes that caused problems were deleted from the nine-part series.Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Jayant Patil also said that the government will not tolerate the insult of Hindu God and Goddesses. Talking to CNN News 18, he said, We dont expect anyone to say anything wrong about our deities. There is no problem in taking action. The Home department is looking into it. And as per requirement, legal action will be taken.

Talking to a tabloid, Zafar said that the pandemic has been a boon for writers as they usually do not get enough time to spend on themselves. During the lockdown, Ali sat in his Dehradun home for five months and just kept writing. He expects to get the second season on floors at the earliest.Ali further said that Saif was his first choice for the character of Samar Pratap Singh who is borderline grey yet vulnerable. With actors like Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kritika Kamra and Gauahar Khan also being a crucial part of the series, Ali said that the series is not riding on superstar and that everyone understood how important their characters arcs are to the story.
