Sunny Deol attended the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa with filmmakers Rajkumar Santoshi and Anil Sharma. Sunny spoke about his character Tara Singh and the success of his most recent film 'Gadar 2.' After receiving compliments from director Rajkumar Santoshi, the actor broke down in tears as he spoke about his film career at the ceremony. "I believe that the industry has not done justice to Sunny's talent. But God has done justice," the Ghayal director said. Reacting to Rajkumar Santoshi's comment, Sunny Deol said, "I just get too emotional, it's my problem" as he wiped his tears.Sunny Deol added, "I remember when I met people from the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. The faith they had in the films I made, is where my positivity came from. Like I have said in previous interviews that mujhe laga ki rab mere andar agaya hai"He talked about his character Tara Singh in 'Gadar' series and said, "Jo Tara Singh hai, everyone wants to be like Tara Singh. A wife would want her husband to be like Tara. The husband would want the wife to be like Sakeena. The way Gadar succeeded, I had never expected."Meanwhile, Sunny is basking in the success of 'Gadar 2'.Sunny's 'Gadar 2' took the box office by storm, collecting a whopping Rs 515.03 crore in about a month.The film has become the second highest-grossing Hindi film and has surpassed the lifetime collection of the Hindi version of Prabhas starrer 'Baahubali 2'.Helmed by Anil Sharma, the film also starred Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.He will be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Lahore 1947', which is being produced by actor Aamir Khan.

Gadar 2' actor Utkarsh Sharma has begun the shooting of his next project.Titled 'Journey' the project is produced by 'Gadar 2' director Anil Sharma.Taking to Instagram, Utkarsh shared a picture from the sets of the film which he captioned, "With your blessing we embark on a ne -- #Journey."In the picture, he can be seen facing against the camera and holding the clapboard of the film.He donned a white t-shirt paired with denims and a black jacket.Further deets about the project is still awaited.Utkarsh was recently seen in the action drama film 'Gadar 2' which also starred Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.The film received massive responses from the fans and is currently the second-highest-grossing Hindi film and has surpassed the lifetime collection of 'Pathaan'.Helmed by Anil Sharma, 'Gadar 2' is a sequel to the hit film which was released in theatres in 2001. Sunny Deol played the role of Tara, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel played Sakina in the film that was set during the partition of India in 1947.'Gadar 2' follows Tara Singh as he ventures across the border in a daring attempt to rescue his son, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, who has been captured in Pakistan.

On Friday, the film was opposed by the lawyers at the Police Station in New Agra and a complaint was lodged as well.Lawyers said that "The film has hurt our religious sentiments, and a complaint has been filed regarding the same. Advocate Sunil Sharma said that the religious sentiments of the Hindu society have been hurt by this film. We have lodged a complaint regarding this. On the other hand, the second complainant Nitin Verma says that Om Raut, director of the film Adipurush and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla have done wrong picturization regarding Ramayana. We have lodged a complaint regarding this."They further said, "We request that a case should be registered against him for playing with religious sentiments and tampering with religious texts and legal action should be taken. It is a request to the Government of Uttar Pradesh that in view of the wrong portrayal of Ram ji, it should be stopped immediately in the state."Directed by Om Raut, 'Adipurush', which is which is an adaptation of the epic Ramayana, has drawn heavy criticism post-release.From critics to reviewers, many voiced misgivings over certain dialogues in the film. Among the dialogues over which the makers have drawn flak are Marega bete', 'Bua ka bagicha hain kya' and 'Jalegi tere baap ki'.The film stars Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti as Goddess Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana, the mythical hydra-headed demon king in the epic.On the losses theatre owners have incurred as the film failed to live up to its pre-release hype and got embroiled in controversies, he said, "Viewers have rejected this film. Yesterday, two of our shows were cancelled and today, our matinee shows had to be cancelled due to poor word-of-mouth and response. This movie will be removed from theatres very soon and we didn't think it will come to this. Not just ours, the owners of all theatres where the film has been released have suffered losses."On the makers amending the contentious dialogues in the face of criticism, Desai told ANI, "They have made some changes to the dialogues, but it's too little too late. Changing dialogues in a film after release does not make sense."Earlier, the mayor of Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, Balendra Shah, had enforced a ban on Indian movies following the 'Adipurush' dialogue row. Less than an hour after the Kathmandu mayor's decision, Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya also sent letters to three movie theatres in the city to halt the screening of all Indian movies. With orders from the mayors of both these cities, theatre owners removed the film.

There were talks about the sequel to the project but if the reports are anything to go by, it is in the works.According to a daily, Anil Sharma has been working on the script for a while and has reportedly locked in the script thirteen years after the first one had released. As far as the cast is concerned, the Deol trio will be returning. The project is scheduled either to go on floors in March or April 2021. Sorted and sensible, the young wannabe star minces no words in defending his debut. I really wanted to make my debut with a film outside my home production since the debate on nepotism rages on. But when this opportunity came my way, it was too tempting to resist just because some people would throw the N bomb at my father and me. The proud son has seen all of his fathers films. Even those that were made before I was born. My favourite film directed by my dad is Hukumat.He is identified with rugged action films starring Dharmendraji and Sunny Deolji. But I was surprised know he started his career with a sensitive film like Shradhanjali.Utkarsh is okay with being accused of falling into the nepotism debate as long as his debut as a leading man is accepted by the audience. I play a RAW agent. My characters life story stretched from age 17 to 24. And it is one of the most interesting characters Ive come across for an actor my age, Utkarsh says with sincerity. Interestingly the role was written for a much older actor. Yes, it was going to be played by an established actor, around 40 years old. Then it was changed and offered to me. I immediately accepted it. Not that it was a cakewalk on the sets of Genius for young Utkarsh. It wasnt as though I was given special treatment on the sets. In fact, I had to work doubly hard since it was my fathers film. But the hard work has all been worth it. I am happy Im making my debut with Genius , and not any other film. To be pitched against a seasoned scene-stealer like Nawazuddin Siddiqui in his very first film couldnt be easy for a newcomer. But Utkarsh was fine with the challenge. The whole idea of being in front of the camera is to work with people who can bring out the best in you. And Nawaz Sir and Mithun Sir (Chakraborty) with their experience wisdom and skills as an actor have already added some vibrant strokes to my performing abilities. I couldnt have asked for better co-stars, says Utkarsh who had Sunny Deol as his co-star in his first film. That was so long ago. Furthermore, Anil is all praises for Siddiquis acting skills. Sharma maintained that no one can play his role better than Nawaz himself. He had approached the Kick actor keeping in mind that he wanted someone to do the role brilliantly. He had full faith in Nawaz and after several telephonic conversations, talks and discussions; the actor was roped in for the film. Further, Anil was happy about the fact that whilst shooting Nawaz added his own share of nuances and even further developed the character with finesse. Anil also shockingly revealed that he had already completed a 30 day schedule when he met Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Genius in October.However, soon by November he decided to join the films team. And later, by February, he had wrapped up the shoot after schedules in Mumbai, Indore, Maheshwar and Mauritius. While Anil described it as a complete entertainer, Genius is said to be a romantic thriller. It stars Ishita Chauhan as the leading lady. Ayesha Jhulka revealed that her character is classy, elegant and that of an independent woman who is liberal and shares a very cordial and friendly relationship with her daughter. From playing a psychotic villain to a gangster aspiring to dance, the variety of roles that the actor has essayed is many and now adding one more to the list will be his role as a genius for Anil Sharmas next, also titled Genius.Yes, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will essay the role a man with an IQ of over 180. Talking about his role, Anil Sharma reportedly revealed that the way his character understands people, science and the world at large is completely different from others. Besides him, Anils son Utkarsh too will be making his Bollywood debut with Genius.Although he played a child actor in Gadar [as Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patels son], now he is all set to gear up for his big Bollywood debut as the main lead. Further elaborating on the role, Anil also maintained that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will encounter the character played by Utkarsh [who is apparently identified as a genius] later in the film and that he will be shooting with the seasoned actor only later this year in Mumbai. As far as the schedule is concerned, the director is currently shooting for Genius in North India which is a 40 day schedule. The film will travel to varied locations ranging from Dehradun to Delhi to IIT Roorkee, where the latter will be a part of the third schedule that will be shot in the end of November.
