Ankita Lokhande, who is all set to portray Yamunabai in 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar', got candid about her character and what made her say "yes" to this role. She told ANI, "The character is such that who represents every Indian woman. A strong character who has supported her husband a lot in everything. Even when she wasn't physically present there, her husband was in the Kala Pani. And actually, Yamunabai is such a character who represents what a housewife can do when something happens to her family."Lokhande plays the character of Yamunabai Savarkar, the wife of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who will be portrayed by her co-star, Randeep Hooda.She added, "I read about Veer Savarkar but never knew so much about Yamunabai. But when you play such characters, you understand their entire journey. How they lived, what their character was like. She was like an unsung hero. If her husband was fighting at the Kala Pani she was fighting a battle outside for her family. There was an incident in the film when her son died and her husband was not aware of it. But the way she handles everything is incredible. It is all about commitment."The actor said that playing such a character is a responsibility. "It feels great when you play such a role and it feels great.'On working with Randeep Hooda, she shared, "The way he gave details about every character, helped a lot to understand them. Popularly known for his role as Naren, the actor took to his Instagram and informed about the same.Karanveer shared a video giving a haircut to his mom as the saloons are shut due to the lockdown. After the haircut, Karanveer along with his wife and mom underwent the COVID testing. The actor came out to be negative, while his mother and wife tested positive. He will also get himself tested after 3-4 days.In the post, Karanveer wrong a long para describing the series of events. The actor wrote, "So this haircut happened yesterday , after which we got urself tested , we do this on a regular basis (haircut & testing).., just to be sure , my mom and my wife both tested positive, @rmehra1111 @nidhivseth, Me miraculously tested negative .., (again) but will get a test done again in 3-4 days. Both had mild fever a few days back , & we thought it could be a regular viral , every thing else is normal now , temp & oxygen count ( grateful to the all mighty)"He further also informed that both the ladies have quarantined themselves and are undergoing treatment. He wrote "They have quarantined themselves in their rooms .. , the house help and maids service have been suspended till we all test negative , and also asked them to get themselves tested. Although she was a top contender for films like Happy New YearRam LeelaBadlapur and Sultan, she decided to not sign those films and when she thought of getting into Bollywood, she only got supporting roles in films like Manikarnika and Baaghi 3. Now, it is all going to change very soon.Ankita has signed a big film already. Says a source, "Ankita will play the main role in Iti, the murder mystery that Prenaa Arora had announced last year. The film is about a girl who has to solve her own murder. When the makers were scouting for a good performer, they spoke to Ankita who also loved the role. She has already agreed to be part of the film and the shooting was supposed to begin this month in Shimla. But, the Covid second wave has now delayed plans now."Last year, post Sushant's death, Ankita had been in the headlines, sometimes for the right reasons and sometimes for the wrong. Iti will be Ankita's third Bollywood film.
