Janhvi Kapoor shares update on 'Ulajh' teaser

16 Apr 2024

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 16 : Actor Janhvi Kapoor is excited to show what work she has done in 'Ulajh' film. On Tuesday, she took to Instagram and shared that the teaser of the film will be unveiled on April 17. Dropping the motion poster of the film, Janhvi on Instagram wrote, "#UlajhTeaser out tomorrow at 11am! Stay tuned."Directed by National Award winner Sudhanshu Saria, the patriotic thriller film also stars Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles.Produced by Junglee Pictures, the project follows the journey of a young IFS officer, belonging to a prominent family of patriots, who gets embroiled in a dangerous personal conspiracy while far from her home turf, at a career-defining post. Written by Parveez Shaikh and Sudhanshu Saria, with dialogues by Atika Chohan, this new-age thriller promises to be unlike anything else audiences have seen in this genre. It also stars Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Sachin Khedekar, Rajendra Gupta and Jitendra Joshi in pivotal roles.Excited to be a part of 'Ulajh', Janhvi earlier said, "When I was approached with the script of 'Ulajh', it instantly attracted me because as an actor, I am constantly looking for scripts that make me break out of my comfort zone and portraying a character based in the celebrated world of the Indian Foreign Services was just that. Just as the name of the film suggests, my character and the story have so many layers, emotions, and parameters, which is challenging and exciting at the same time. I am thrilled for the audience to see me in this new role envisioned by Sudhanshu, who has such a fresh approach towards dealing with this genre. I am also looking forward to working with such talented co-actors and a development studio like Junglee Pictures for the first time."

"Left the industry because I thought my shelf life was over...": Neelam Kothari recalls the time when she decided to quit acting

5 Apr 2024

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 5 : Neelam Kothari Soni undoubtedly ruled the silver screen in the late 80s and 90s. With films like 'Ilzaam', 'Khudgarz', 'Hatya', 'Taaqatwar', 'Hum Sath Sath Hain' and 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in her kitty, she took Bollywood by storm with her graceful presence. However, one day, she broke the hearts of several fans as she decided to move away from films. While away from the world of cinemaNeelam ventured into her family business of jewellery and established her name as a successful businesswoman. Surprisingly, four years ago, she made a long-awaited return to the screen with the reality show 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives' and is now very active in the entertainment industry. Speaking with ANI, Neelam reflected on her journey, revealing she left the industry as she thought her shelf life in cinema was over but now she is casting her belief aside and proving that "age is just a number"."My journey has been like a yo-yo...you know, I saw a big start in the 80s and 90s, then, you know, I left the industry. And then I started my own business, my family's jewellery business and then I came back with a bang with 'Fabulous Lives'. It's been incredible. I am very fortunate to have these opportunities come my way. So, my journey in a nutshell, I would just say that it's been a roller coaster ride. I have seen ups and downs as well. I've seen everything," she said."I'll be honest...I left the industry because I thought my shelf life was over. And honestly, when I hit 50 I got very complacent, just going to the office and coming back home being a mom, being a wife and being a working mom. And all of a sudden, you know, I'm back, you know, with a bang...so it shows age is just a number," Neelam added.Neelam took a break from the acting profession when she was at the peak of her career."I left when I was at the top and I feel that that's how people have sort of somehow remembered me also because I didn't fizzle out," she expressed.Neelam's most recent work project includes Audible's podcast series 'Marvel's Wastelanders: Wolverine'. Neelam has lent her voice to the character of Jean Grey. Sharing her experience working on the audio series, she said, "I am not so much of a science fiction fan. So this whole universe, and this whole Marvel series is very new to me...and as someone who's creative, I definitely wanted to get into this medium as well...it's another world altogether. I actually finished it in a breeze and the whole team was so sort of encouraging and helpful. And I actually had a blast. I felt like I was transported into another world. So for me, it was just I was so excited."In the coming months, she will be seen in the third season of 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives'.

Yash has long expressed that concern, and to change that, we at KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations are kickstarting the shooting of Toxic in Karnataka. We have already erected massive sets, creating many job opportunities and avenues for people at ground level, technicians and budding talent in the state. We are working towards making a film of global potential.""As producers, we had options from various locations in India and abroad. The film has onboard actors and technicians from multiple industries, even international talent, and setting up a base there would have been more economical. However, Yash and KVN took the initiative to establish Toxic HQ in Karnataka before we shoot parts of the film in locations elsewhere, and showcase the tremendous potential of our people," the statement added. In December 2023, Yash announced the film's title with a video on Instagram and wrote, "'What you seek is seeking you' - Rumi A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups #TOXIC."The video gave a glimpse of the actor's looks in the film wearing a hat and with a cigar in his mouth. The film is touted to be an action-oriented film set against the backdrop of the drug mafia. After the success of the KGF movies, actor Yash became a household name. "On this day 19 years ago, I made my debut in the film "Socha Na Tha". Still feels like it was only yesterday! It's been quite the learning curve, how innocent and naive we were.Whilst I'm happy that I didn't cave into market demands and package myself into a brand via endorsements and P.R, I do wish I was a bit more savvy," he said."But here I am, 19 years later, still making movies. I cannot be more grateful. And I did become a brand via the film choices I made. I faced the successes and failures of my choices by myself. Following my heart has taught me many valuable lessons. I wouldn't change a thing, because I wouldn't be the man I am today, so comfortable in his skin. Although I do wish I'd gotten my own stylist for the movie, and someone to tell me that my side burns made me look like a 70's...!" Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, which was his directorial debut. 'Socha Na Tha' featured debutants Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia in lead roles.Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the film did not make a significant mark at the box office. It explores the complexities of love and relationships. As soon as the post was uploaded, fans and industry members flooded the comment section.Bobby Deol drooped star emoticons. One of the users wrote, "wonderful movie watched it almost 6 -7 times."Another user commented, "So far one of the best love stories. No one had any expectations of me and neither did I inspire confidence from anyone. But that's the beauty of life, anything is possible, so don't stop learning. Now here I am, working with these two legends, @thezeenataman and @azmishabana18, pictured here along with my director @farazarifansari who is not a legend, (yet!)."He added, "Believe in yourself, validate yourself, it's the internal that influences the external. Only you can put yourself down, or up, don't give that power away to anyone. Our film "Bun Tikki" is almost over, and like me, it's a little film that dares to dream big. So can you! Thank you @farazarifansari, for believing in me."'Bun Tikki' stands out among debut pictures of the year, bringing together two renowned actors, Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman, on the big screen.

"Need to say this, rushed to Goa two days ago... Had a medical emergency in my family... My sister has literally been in hospital. Turns out there are no other important issues in the country except dissecting my looks," she wrote. She went on to clarify that the actor won't be making her comeback in Bollywood. "Been bombarded by viral ridiculous opinions of how ppl think I should have looked and don't.
