Drug peddler involved in Fardeen Khan case gets acquitted

27 Feb 2018

We all know about how Fardeen Khan got embroiled in a drug case in 2001. The drug peddler Nasir Karim Sheikh who was arrested alongside the Bollywood actor has now been acquitted from the case on Monday. The reason is said to be lack of evidence. For the uninitiated, Fardeen Khan and Nasir Karim Sheikh were arrested in Juhu after the police received a tip-off about a drug consignment. However, Fardeen was later acquitted from the case, after he got immunity from the court. While Nasir was caught with 9 grams of cocaine, Fardeen went on to give a statement that he was about to buy only 1 gram of it. Considering that Nasir was arrested on allegations of supplying drugs, he has now been let off by the special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances court. On the other hand, Fardeen Khan had received a clean chit from NDPS six years ago, in 2012 itself. Besides Nasir, Tony Hector Gomes who was allegedly booked under Section 21 (B) of the NDPS Act were not examined by the court. Recent reports point out that Special NDPS judge UM Mudholkar has apparently not examined witnesses including Sheikh and Gomes in the case. According to these reports, out of over 20 witnesses, only six were examined since most of them were NCB [Narcotic Control Bureau] officers. Reportedly, defense lawyers Taraq Sayyed and Shekhar Bhandari wanted important witnesses to be examined. If these reports are to be believed, they had stressed on the need of examining witness like the chemical analyzer who had found traces of cocaine on the consignment too to give in their inputs on the case. Speaking on the same, the lawyer duo also expressed their disappointment over not scrutinizing independent witnesses. Bhandari also apparently asserted that the NCB officers did not tell the accused about his right to be searched before a magistrate or gazette officer. Also Read: CUTE! Salman Khan no longer part of No Entry sequel?

25 Nov 2017

Back in 2005, we saw the release of the Anees Bazmee directed film No Entry.Starring Salman Khan Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, the comic caper received a good response from the audience. Ever since then, there have been multiple reports about a sequel to the film being made. However, now over a decade on, there has been no progress on the same, with the reason being that Salman Khan has not really given a clear picture whether he would want be part of the sequel or not. But now we hear that the makers of the No Entry sequel that is being titled No Entry Mein Entry have decided on going ahead with the film without Salman Khan. If what we hear is true, then the makers of the sequel will apparently be commencing work on No Entry Mein Entry that will feature only Anil Kapoor returning from original cast of the first film. If that wasnt all, we also hear that, joining the cast of No Entry Mein Entry will be none other than Anil Kapoors nephew Arjun Kapoor , who incidentally shared screen space with Anil in the film Mubarakan which was also directed by Anees Bazmee. As of now, an official announcement on the same is awaited.

There is good news and bad news for producer Boney Kapoor. First the bad news. Salman Khan is not doing Boneys comedy No Entry Mein Entry , the sequel to the 2005 hit directed by Anees Bazmee. For a very long time Salman has been see-sawing between yes and no regarding this long-delayed project which was to also feature Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan (remember him?) from the original film. Looks like Anees and Boney have been living on false hope. Salman clearly told a friend that he is not doing No Entry Mein Entry. So that is that. But Boney can cheer up double-quick after the loss. Salman Khan is most definitely doing the sequel to Wanted. The project was stuck in a legal imbroglio with a party claiming copyright infringement. But the courts have now ruled in Boneys favour. And matters are proceeding with supreme celerity as far as Wanted 2 is concerned. In fact Salman and Prabhu Dheva recently met and threshed out a basic plot point. Prabhu now needs to work his way around the plot point suggested by Salman Khan. A source close to Salman reveals, He is very keen on Wanted 2. Wanted which came in 2009 changed Salmans fortunes. Salman and Prabhu were itching to come together. Watch out for an announcement shortly. What you will definitely find in Wanted 2: Salman Khan mouthing the line Ek baar jo commitment kar liya toh main apni bhi nahin sunta hoon. What you definitely wont find in Wanted 2: Ayesha Takia.
