Zeenat Aman reveals why Feroz Khan cut her pay on 'Qurbani' set

4 Jan 2024

Zeenat Aman recalled in a social media post the time when late director Feroz Khan cut her pay on the 'Qurbani' set.She took to Instagram and penned down a long note. She wrote, "I read somewhere that Oxford's word for the year 2023 is 'rizz' - short for 'charisma'. Well, if I've ever known anybody to have rizz, it was Feroz Khan."The actor also recalled the 1970s, when her career was on the rise and Feroz approached her to offer her a role in his future ......play.She added, "Feroz and I had a rocky start. It was the 70s, my star was on the rise, and he called me on the telephone to offer me a role in his upcoming production. It was a secondary part, and so I politely refused the offer. Feroz was incensed and let out a stream of expletives while I held the receiver away from my ear.""Many months later, he called again. This time he started his pitch by saying, 'it's the lead role so don't reject it.' And that's how I joined the cast of Qurbani.""I often discuss set etiquette in my captions, so I'd be amiss to neglect Feroz's influence on me in this regard. I was quite a diligent worker, but on one occasion, my youth got the better of me. Though we had an early call time the next day, I agreed to go out to a party. It was a fantastic night of dance and drink, and unsurprisingly, I landed up one hour late to set," she added."Feroz was glowering behind his camera, and before I could offer him my meagre excuse, he cut me down to size. 'Begum, you're late and you're going to pay for the delay.' No argument, no scolding, but you can be sure that he docked my pay to pay the crew for that one hour delay!" "Feroz was suave, charming and polished. He was a talented actor-director, and Qurbani remains one of my favourite projects to date. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this anecdote and I hope 2024 is off to a roaring start for you!" 'Qurbani' was released in 1980. It was directed by Feroz Khan, who also acted in the film alongside Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan and others. The movie revolves around two friends, Rajesh (played by Vinod Khanna) and Amar (played by Feroz Khan), who find themselves entangled in a web of crime and deceit. The film explores themes of friendship, betrayal, and revenge, and it was a commercial success during its time.Zeenat made her Instagram debut in February. She keeps on sharing reflective thoughts on topics ranging from parenthood, the privacy of celebrities, dyeing hair and many more things.Zeenat will be next seen in 'Bun Tikki.' Produced by Manish Malhotra, the film also stars Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol. The famous actor has given several hits such as 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram', 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna', 'Qurbaani', 'Dhund', 'Don', 'Manoranjan' and 'Yaadon Ki Baarat'. She was known for playing unconventional roles in her era when many actors were reluctant to take on those roles.

Celina Jaitly schools a troll who accused her of having relations with Fardeen Khan, Feroz Khan

12 Apr 2023

Fardeen Khan and his father Feroz Khan."Often trollers escape after passing gross comments. But in this case, Celina had a different plan as she retaliated with a mic-drop reply.A Twitter user who claims to be a member of an overseas censor board made a comment about Celina's character by stating, "Celina Jaitly is the only Actress in Bollywood who slept with both Father (Feroz Khan) & son (Fardeen Khan) many times".Celina was in no mood of letting go of the troller easily after this type of remark. She responded with a befitting response. The 'No Entry' actress tweeted, "Dear Mr Sandhu hope posting this gave you the much needed girth & length to become a man & some hope to cure you of your erectile dysfunction. There are other ways to fix your problem..like going to a doctor, you must try it sometime!" The reply was enough to shake the internet. The actress also requested the Twitter Safety account to take necessary action against the troller.Celina currently lives in Austria with her husband Peter Haag and their three kids.

Fardeen Khan confirms his comeback plans

13 Sep 2021

In December 2020 Fardeen Khan, son of the late legendary Feroz Khan had confirmed that he was ready to get back to acting. Its now been reported that Fardeens comeback project is Sanjay Guptas production entitled Visfot (the explosion) where Fardeen will share screen space with Riteish Deshmukh. When I contacted Fardeen he said, We are in talks. In an interview to me in December 2020 Fardeen had said, I never thought Id be away for so long. But it happened. Initially my wife Natasha and I had to move to London because we were having challenges (to face) in having children. In 2013 we finally had our daughter. Four years later our son was born. Each time there was a bundle of joy in the house it just took over our lives. I didnt even know how when so much time flew by. I had to be up and down between Mumbai and London. Because we had chosen the IVF route it wasnt easy for my wife Natasha. I had to be by her side.Initially Fardeen thought hed be away from Mumbai for only 2-3 years. He sighed, If only life were that simple! Being away wasnt planned, I was dealing with circumstances. Now I am blessed with two beautiful children. And the time Ive spent with them away from work has been so beautiful. My children and I share an amazing bond. I count my blessings every day, Subhash. I have a lot to be grateful for. Now I see the children a little more settled. I feel its time for me to get back to work. My return to work happened organically. It happened when it was meant to happen. Having returned I find the entire landscape of the film industry has changed.Fardeen made it clear he was open to quality work in Bollywood. Ive always been going back and forth between Mumbai and London. I spent half my time there and half my time here. This time Im back with a purpose. I want to do good meaningful work. I think this is the new golden-age of cinema. Its encouraging to see such a diversity of cinema happening.
