Actor Freida Pinto and her fiance Cory Tran on Monday announced that they are all set to welcome their first child. The couple took to their Instagram handle to share the happy news with their fans and followers. They also shared lovely pictures where Freida is flaunting her baby bump.Baby Tran, coming this Fall! Freida wrote alongside the photos. Freida and Cory got engaged in November 2019 and had announced the same on Instagram on Cory's birthday back then.

Freida Pinto turns producer for women empowerment shows and films

Freida Pinto is a renowned social activist who essentially works towards the development of women and the actress has taken yet another step in this direction. Freida along with renowned Hollywood personalities like Jessica Chastian, Juliette Binoche, Queen Latifah, Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke and actress Ziyi Zhang among others will be launching nonprofit organization created to finance and produce content related to women empowerment. This NGO called We Do It Together will focus on films, documentaries, TV and other forms of media dedicated to create content that will change perceptions of female stereotypes. An insider reveals the thought behind why this team came about this subject, The move comes after the revelation last fall that the The Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was interviewing dozens of female directors about the discrimination they face in both film and television. Women currently receive only 16% of the episodic TV directing jobs, and last year directed less than 5% of the major studio movie releases. We Do It Together looks to change this. They will raise capital from grants, governments, corporate sponsors, and individual donations to invest in the production of films, proceeds from which will be reinvested in the company to create a self-sustaining organization prepared to invest in additional films. The first film through this new company will be announced at this years Cannes Film Festival.

Freida Pinto to co-host a special dinner at the World Economic Forum

International actress Freida Pinto has time and again extended her support for varied social causes and promoted them across the entertainment world through various events. The actress is also a representative of the The Global Citizen Initiative (TGCI) and is now all set to host a special dinner on January 21, that is today in Switzerland. TGCI helps in building the global citizenship skills in order to overcome issues pertaining to human rights, gender equality, the environment, global peace among others across the world. The said dinner will be hosted at the World Economic Forum in Davos. If sources are to be believed, Freida will be hosting the dinner and speaking to the gathering on Global Goals with a special focus on India and the plans ahead. The special guests at this dinner would be Melinda Gates and the legendary musician Bono along with Oprah Winfrey and Sheryl Sandberg. The dinner will also be attended by major HNIs and influencers including Heads of State, CEOs and other key voices and opinion leaders.

Richa Chadha, who was last seen in Omung Kumar's Sarbjit, is now doing her first ever cross-over International Film. The Indo-American project is directed by Tabrez Noorani.

The untitled project will focus on human trafficking. Along with Richa Chadha, Frieda Pinto is also the part of the film. Hollywood actress Demi Moore, best known for her roles in Ghost and Striptease , will also star in a special role. The film will be extensively shot in L.A and in Hong Kong. It is produced by David Womark, who has also produced Oscar nominated movie Life of Pi . Meanwhile, Richa Chadha will be seen in a new avatar in Pooja Bhatt's Cabaret .

Following an uproar on social media over the alleged majority of white and male members in the Oscars, there have been a few members added in it. The Academy has invited 683 new members, 46 percent women and 41 percent of varied race that also consists of renowned personalities from Bollywood and global celebrities with an Indian origin.

Amongst the Indian members, it includes veteran actress and former CBFC chairperson Sharmila Tagore, actress-director Deepa Mehta, international star Freida Pinto and filmmaker Asif Kapadia of documentary Amy fame. Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs extended a warm welcome to all the new members and added that this is not just a membership but a mission for which they have come together. On the other hand, there are new members from Hollywood who have joined which includes Idris Elba, best actress winner Brie Larson and Star Wars fame John Boyega. The decision was taken by the Oscar officials followed by an outrage on the internet which was trending with the title #OscarsSoWhite that pointed out the dominance of whites and males amongst the jury members.

Frieda Pinto, who rose to fame starring in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, will be receiving a prestigious award from the Indian film fraternity.

Frieda Pinto will be attending the IIFA 2016 in Spain to receive an International Icon award. Since her debut in Hollywood with Slumdog Millionaire, Frieda Pinto has become one of the most successful Indian talents abroad. She has worked with big names like Christian Bale, Bruno Mars, James Franco, Woody Allen and others. IIFA wanted to honour Frieda Pinto to celebrate her international career. Apart from being an actress, Frieda has also been a fashion icon.

IIFA 2016 will have some grand performances and will be hosted by Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar. This would be the first time Frieda Pinto will be making an appaearance in an Indian award show. After IIFA 2016 appearance, Frieda Pinto will be flying to Monrovia to join the first lady of United States of America Michelle Obama in a campaign for her Let Girls Learn campaign.

Extending her support for the cause of educating a girl child, Freida Pinto is all set to make her voice heard this time in Liberia, Morocco and Spain with none other than the First Lady Michelle Obama.

Freida Pinto along with the First Lady, her daughters Sasha and Malia, their grandmother Marian Robinson - will travel to Liberia, Morocco and Spain at the end of June and into early July as part of the 'Let Girls Learn' initiative. Let Girls Learn is a government initiative aimed at helping girls obtain a quality education. The focus of the trip which includes Monrovia, Marrakesh and Madrid - is for them to speak to young girls about the importance of education and staying in school.

Starting with Liberia, Freida along with Michelle Obama will take part in a discussion which will cover the educational barriers girls face in the country. President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf will meet with Pinto and the First Lady. Next, in Morocco, Meryl Streep will be joining them along to discuss the challenges women in the African country deal with on a regular basis.

Anupam Kher to star with Freida Pinto in film on sex trafficking

Just a couple of days back we had reported that Anupam Kher had to make his way back to the city after being denied to visit the National Institute of Technology in Srinagar. Well away from such denials we hear that Anupam Kher has been roped in to feature in a film on sex trafficking alongside Freida Pinto.

The film in question titled Love Sonia tells the heartfelt and brave story of Sonia, a young Indian village girl whose life irrevocably changes when she is entrapped into the vicious global sex trade network. Tweeting about the same Kher posted, "Happy & Proud to be part of this amazing international film LOVE SONIA dir by Tabrez Noorani.:)".

Written by Ted Caplan and Alkesh Vaja, Love Sonia will mark the directorial debut of Slumdog Millionaire producer Tabrez Noorani. As for the cast, while Mrunal Thakur will play the title character, the film will also feature American actor Paul Dano, Manoj Bajpai, Richa Chaddha, Adil Hussain, Rajkummar Rao and Sai Tamhankar.

Speaking about the same, Freida said that she had read 'The Jungle Book' and had watched the TV series in India during her growing up years. She added that most of her films have not been good enough for the children. That's why she was very happy to be doing a film that can be watched by the kids.
