Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 25 : Govinda surprised everyone by attending his niece Arti Singh's wedding in Mumbai on Thursday evening.Fans were uncertain if Govinda would attend Arti's wedding, especially since he missed her pre-wedding ceremonies.Govinda was all smiles as he made a grand entry in an all-black sherwani to Arti's wedding. He also greeted the paparazzi stationed outside the wedding venue with folded hands.Govinda has had a strained relationship with his nephew Krushna Abhishek, who is Arti's brother. They had a major fallout in 2018. However, it appears Govinda has chosen to reconcile and mend their relationship. In 2018, Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja reportedly criticized Krushna Abhishek's wife Kashmera Shah for a tweet about "people who dance for money," believing it was aimed at Govinda. The fallout led to the family cutting ties with Kashmera and her husband Krushna Abhishek. Krushna later clarified that the tweet was about his sister Arti Singh, but the damage was done, causing a public rift between the families.A while ago, actress Bipasha Basu and her husband-actor Karan Singh Grover also arrived at the wedding venue. They were accompanied by Bipasha's mother.Arti and Dipak's sangeet, haldi and mehendi functions also had a starry touch. The sangeet night was attended by Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Rashami Desai, Kishwer Merchant, Yuvika Chaudhary, Shehzada Dhami, Karan Singh Grover, and others. Arti danced to popular Bollywood wedding songs. Krushna also gave a special performance.Reportedly, it's an arranged marriage and the duo met through matchmakers. Arti, niece of actor Govinda, has appeared in several TV Shows. She was also a part of Bigg Boss 13.
Kriti Sanon has donned many hats. At the Times Now Summit, the pretty actor of 'Mimi' fame opened up on whether she will consider a foray into politics. In a session at the summit, the actor was asked if she will follow in the footsteps of Govinda, who joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena on Thursday."I have never thought of that. I never think that I will do this or that until it comes from within and until I am not very passionate about it. If someday, it comes in my heart that I want to do something more, maybe then. One should keep shifting gears once in a while and challenge oneself to do things which one has not done before."Actor Govinda joined the Shiv Sena on Thursday in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Shinde in Mumbai.Earlier in the day, Govinda met Krishna Hegde, the spokesperson for the Shiv Sena, at his residence. In 2004, Govind successfully contested the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket, defeating veteran BJP leader Ram Naik. However, he later resigned from the Congress party.Apart from the prolific star from the nineties and early 2000s, Kangana Ranaut also made her foray into politics after she was named as the BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP released its fifth list of candidates for 16 states earlier. However, the task is cut out for Kangana on her electoral debut as she is contesting a seat that has been a traditional Congress stronghold. On the work front, Kreeti is gearing up for 'Crew' alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu.In the film, Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti are essaying the roles of 'bad***' air hostesses. Gulshan Devaiah is all set to entertain the audience with his dark and quirky character, 4 Cut Atmaram, in the upcoming comedy thriller show Guns & Gulaabs.Created by the director duo Raj and DK, the series is set in the 90s and paints a wild, wild world in cinemascope where a high-stakes deal unfolds. On Wednesday, while talking exclusively to ANI, actor Gulshan Devaiah revealed that whenever he thinks of the 90s era, he thinks of actor Govinda.Gulshan said, Whenever I think of the 90s I remember Govinda. Because there was a time from 1994 to 1998, I had seen all his films. The colourful characters he used to play and the clothes he used to wear and the songs in his films were too good. So whenever I think of the 90s era, it is Govinda for me."Talking about how his character, 4 Cut Atmaram, in the upcoming series is different from all other characters he played before, Gulshan told ANI, I had a lot of fun playing Atmaram. This is a Raj & DK character, they have written this character and gave it to me and said see what you want to do with it. They have a very particular kind of sense of humour, it's a bit quirky, its a bit dark, but not too dark, there is violence but not gory violence. Its a character in the world that Raj and DK always create, so this is another world, were going retro this time. So theyve created an imaginary world, its a completely fictitious place and its a fictitious character, and it's so much fun in fiction because it is all about your imagination and it gives you an opportunity also to use your imagination. All credit goes to Raj and DK and the opportunity that they gave me to have fun and also to be creative. The series also stars RajKummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, T.J. Bhanu, in the lead roles and is all set to stream on the OTT platform Netflix from August 18.Talking about Guns & Gulaabs, Against the backdrop of comedic power struggles and revenge plots, the series blends genres as it follows a lovestruck mechanic, a reluctant heir to a ruling gang and an honest officer-turned-agent-of-chaos. Adding to this, a trio of schoolmates experience the sweet innocence that comes with growing up in a small town, replete with heartbreaks, betrayal, and a world of firsts, a statement read.
