The newbie actress Sara Ali Khan will be starring opposite Varun. Now, it has been learnt that Coolie No 1 will go on the floor on August 5 in Bangkok. David Dhawan was recently there for the recce. Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal will head to the location for a 20-day schedule along with several cast members from the ensemble. Post that, they will begin another big schedule in Goa. While Kader Khans role was more of an orthodox father, Paresh Rawals character has been improvised and tweaked according to the modern day. The storyline will remain the same but the script has been tweaked. The original film Coolie No 1 revolved around the story of a father with two daughters who is looking for eligible rich boys to get his daughters married. Kader Khans son collects his fathers Padma Shri in Toronto

1 May 2019

The late and much-missed actor-writer-directorKaderKhan who passed away in January 2019 was awarded a much-deservedPadmaShriposthumously. KaderSaabs sonSarfaraz who lives with his family in Toronto was supposed to attend the awards function in New Delhi. But could not make it. Earlier this week thePadmaShriwas delivered to Sarfaraz Khan by Indias Consul General Dinesh Bhatia in Toronto. When thePadmaShrihad been announced for KaderSaab,Sarfarzhad told this writer, It (thePadma Shri) is a statement on my fathers hard work in Indian cinema for 45 years. And I accept it withjoy pride and humility on his behalf. If God is happy with what an individual has done in his life, He will find a way to give love and respect to that individual even when hes gone. I will be in India to receive the honour on behalf of my father. Now after his inability to show up at theRashtrapati Bhawan on his fathers behalf to personally collect the greatest honour of his fathers career, speaking exclusively to this writer from TorontoSarfarazKhan explained why he couldnt make it to New Delhi to receive the award. I had got a short notice for the ceremony and tried my best to make it but unfortunately could not during that time. This is the best gift of my life, my Dads Padma Shri I received on my birthday. I am grateful to the Honourable President of India for presenting the award to my father. Would like to thank the Government of India and the jury members of the ceremony. Would also like to thank the people of India for the love and respect they have always showed towards my father and his family, this could not be possible without them. On my fathers behalf I would like to thank everyone who believed in my fathers skills and ability, and would love to share this happiness with them. For close to 40 years KaderSaab ruled Bollywoodas writer and actor. He was associated with many ofAmitabhBachchans and Govindas biggest hits. Many felt he was disillusioned with the treatment he got from the Mumbai filmindustry whenhe left India to be with his sons in Canada during his final years.

Kader Khans son says he will receive the Padma Shri honour personally

30 Jan 2019

Although the Padma Shri given to the late and in his own right, great, Kader Khan is being seen as a case of too-little-too-late, Kader Khans son Sarfaraz Khan says he s happy with the Indian governments decision to honour his father. Responding to the Padma Shri from Canada, Sarfaraz says, It (the Padma Shri) is a statement on my fathers hard work in Indian cinema for 45 years. And I accept it with joy pride and humility on his behalf. But surely, the Padma would have made more sense if it had been given while Kader Saab was still alive? Replies Sarfaraz, If God is happy with what an individual has done in his life, he will find a way to give love and respect to that individual even when hes gone. I will be in India to receive the honour on behalf of my father. Kader Khans family is also planning its own tributes. One hears of at least three books on the versatile writer-actor being authored. A museum of Kader Khan memorabilia is also being planned. And a biopic with Amitabh Bachchan playing Kader Khan is on the anvil Also Read: Padma Awards 2019: Posthumous Padma Shri for Kader Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Prabhu Dheva among awardees, Padma Bhushan for Mohanlal

Kader Khans son Sarfaraz calls out Govindas hypocrisy after his Twitter tribute for father Figure

4 Jan 2019

Kader Khan, a legendary actor and screen writer, passed away in Canada a couple of days ago. He succumbed to old age and left behind a great legacy for anyone aspiring to make it big in the film business. An exceptionally talented personality spent his last days with his family in Toronto and was a bit lonely too. After he passed away, everyone from the industry including Amitabh Bachchan and his on screen son Govinda took to Twitter to post heartfelt tributes for him. Govinda wrote, RIP Kader Khan Saab. He was not just my ustaad but a father figure to me, his midas touch and his aura made every actor he worked with a superstar. The entire film industry and my family deeply mourns this loss and we cannot express the sorrow in words.#ripkaderkhansaab. While Govindas tribute sounded genuine, his son Sarfaraz is of another opinion. He told media that if Govinda really cared, he could have called to check on the family at least. He also said that he never reached out to his father figure in his last days, thus calling out his hypocrisy. Similarly Amitabh Bachchan too took to Twitter and had a lot to say about Kader Khan and his talent. But there were reports that Kader in fact lost out on a lot of projects because he refused to call Amitabh sirji. But Sarfaraz later clarified that Kader thought about Amitabh till his last breathe. He said that Kader loved and respected Amitabh and the feeling was mutual. Amitabh tweeted, Kadar Khan passes away .. sad depressing news .. my prayers and condolences .. a brilliant stage artist a most compassionate and accomplished talent on film .. a writer of eminence ; in most of my very successful films .. a delightful company .. and a mathematician !! Kader passed away at the age of 81 on December 31. Also Read : Amul pays emotional tribute to late Kader Khan
