Women are getting a voice to speak: Adah Sharma hails passage of women's reservation Bill

Adah Sharma, On Tuesday, lauded the passage of the women's reservation Bill in Parliament.Adah went to the Ganpati pandal where she shared her views on the women's reservation bill with ANI, saying, "Any bill that is in support of anybody is a good thing and we always stood for women's empowerment and that's how we should encourage women. "She added, "I am very happy that women are getting a voice to speak." The draft legislation, which was passed by an overwhelming majority in both Houses, provides for a 33 per cent reservation for women not just in the Parliament but also in state legislative bodies.Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced the Bill in the first sitting of the Lok Sabha in the new Parliament building, during the Special Session that was convened recently. The Bill was named Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.The 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' was the first Bill passed by Lok Sabha after it shifted to the new Parliament building on Tuesday.On September 21 (Thursday), the Parliament passed the historic draft legislation, with the Rajya Sabha clearing it unanimously.A total of 214 members in the Upper House, voted in support of the Bill and none voted against it. The members welcomed the passing of the Bill by thumping their desks.BJP members raised slogans hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and greeted him after the legislation was passed.Marking a giant leap in the empowerment of one-half of the country's population, chants of 'Modi Modi' were raised by women MPs as they took turns to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the passage of the draft legislation.Women members from both Houses of Parliament, including PT Usha, and Union Ministers Meenakashi Lekhi and Smriti Irani, were all smiles as they presented a bouquet to Prime Minister Modi on the historic passage of the Bill in Parliament.Lok Sabha passed the Bill on Wednesday in the Parliament's Special Session with 454 members voting in favour of the legislation and two against it.Earlier Rajya Sabha passed the Women's Reservation Bill in 2010 during the Congress-led UPA government but it could not be taken up in the Lok Sabha.The new Women's Reservation Bill was passed during the Special Session of Parliament which began on Monday. The two Houses were later adjourned sine die.

Sahil Salathia is reuniting with producer Nikkhil Advani in the upcoming horror series 'Adhura'. The actor recently shared his excitement.Directed by Ananya Banerjee and Gauravv K. Chawla, and written by Banerjee, the series is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani, of Emmay Entertainment, the series features Ishwak Singh, Poojan Chhabra, Rijul Ray, Zoa Morani, Sahil Salathia, and Aru Krishansh Verma as high school friends alongside Rasika Dugal, Shrenik Arora and Rahul Dev playing pivotal roles.Makers on Wednesday unveiled the trailer of the series.The trailer of Adhura take on a chilling journey revolving around a prestigious boarding school in Ooty, set in two timelines - 2022 and 2007. Secrets, disappearances, and eerie occurrences connect a guilt-ridden alumnus Adhiraj (Ishwak Singh)and a troubled student Vedant (Shrenik Arora), blurring the lines between the past and present. As the shocking truth threatens to unravel, the batch of 2007 is forced to confront their inner demons, as the school's core is threatened, forever changing the lives of those involved.The actor is quite ecstatic about this reunion with Nikkhil and Emmay and is looking forward to his new show. Sahil in a statement said, "I am very excited to be a part of Adhura. I think it's a very interesting series. I have worked with Nikkhil Advani and Emmay Entertainment before on the series P.O.W. I got to play the antagonist in that series and this time, I am again doing something that I haven't done before. The actress owing to her other commitments had restricted time and could only train for 8 days.Sharing a video from the song's rehearsal, Wamiqa wrote,I have no idea how I managed to learn a new dance form in 8-9 days". She continued with thanking her dance team including Shiamak Davar, Puneet Cheema, Aneesha Dalal and Kruti Wesley.She also added a sweet thank you note for her co-star, Ishaan and said, "Thank you Ishaan for never complaining even after l lifting me up 1000 times a day".Helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, The 30-minute-long movie was shot on a phone and was released recently.The short film, which has been hailed for its cinematography and choreography, was also praised by Apple CEO Tim Cook.The film tells the story of a man named Nishant who can get a glimpse into the future with the help of an ancient relic called 'Doordarshak'.In the upcoming months, Wamiqa will be next seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's Khufiya along with Tabu, and Ali Fazal amongst others.Ishaan, on the other hand, was last seen in 'Phone Bhoot' alongside Sidhant Chaturvedi and Katrina Kaif. He will be seen next in an upcoming period war film 'Pippa' along with Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli.

Celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib apologises after spitting on a womans head; NCW seeks legal action

Celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib dominated Twitter trends on Thursday after a video of him spitting a woman's head went viral on social media. Several Twitter users called out Habib for his act which happened during a workshop in Uttar Pradeshs Muzzafarnagar. Later, the hairstylist issued an apology through a video message.In his video, Jawed explained that such things are often done with a humourous intent during workshops. He also issued a sincere apology to all those who were hurt because of the incident.Some words spoken by me during my seminar have hurt a few people. I just want to say one thing these are professional workshops, as in, they are attended by people from within our profession. When these sessions get very long, we have to make them humorous. What can I say? If you are truly hurt, I apologise from the bottom of my heart. Please forgive me, I am sorry," Jawed Habib can be heard saying in the video.
